Lingnan He Yuan•Xianmo Flower Field，located in Beijiao Town, Shunde City, Guangdong，It consists of two areas: Lingnan He Yuan and Xianmo Flower Field. The total area is about 78,000 square meters. The scenic spot not only displays the traditional garden culture of Lingnan, but also has a natural flower sea landscape.
Lingnan He Yuan, located in Beijiao Town, Shunde City, Guangdong, was planned and built by Beijiao Town Government with a donation of 300 million yuan from Guangdong-based He
Foundation. He Yuan which was built over 4 years and covers an area of 42,000 square meters
was officially opened to the public on April 27th, 2018. It is committed to becoming a tourist
attraction and garden museum that showcases Lingnan gardening art and carries forward the
excellent Cantonese culture and aims to become a national tourist attraction. “He” in the name of Lingnan He Yuan is taken from Laozi’s Tao Te Ching: “All things leave behind them the
Obscurity (out of which they have come), and go forward to embrace the Brightness (into which they have emerged). “He”, literally meaning harmony, is the core value in ancient Chinese philosophy, and a synonym of success and happiness in life.
As a newly built modern garden with a traditional Lingnan style, He Yuan follows the traditional Chinese landscape garden features with the mountain in the north and river on the south, facing the sun. Built using traditional Lingnan gardening techniques, He Yuan integrates Lingnan garden design vocabularies in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, the Republic of China, and the modern China, creating a rich and varied garden. Based on the “three carving and three sculpture” construction technology for traditional Lingnan architecture, it continues the essence of Cantonese gardens, showcasing the tableau of life in Lingnan villages with landscape, markets, and families.Performances, festivals, and events with local characteristics are held regularly at the garden, including Cantonese events, Cantonese Opera, Shunde gourmet food, and garden culture. It is dedicated to becoming a national tourist attraction and a garden museum that showcases Lingnan garden art and carries forward the excellent culture of Canton.
The total area of the Xianmo Flower Field is about 36,000 square meters. The design concept
is based on the contiguous sea of flowers, forming a three-dimensional landscape. Flowers such as cosmos, sunflower, chrysanthemum, and sage bloom with the changing seasons ，
Bamboo-structured Stage, Waterside Bamboo Pavilion, Artistic pneumatic corridor and other art installations embellish it, creating a check-in point of "flower viewing season in all seasons" and becoming a flower field landscape for the general public to play, appreciate and rest. Beijiao Bonsai Garden in the flower field area is a bonsai art platform that integrates the functions of display, cultivation, viewing and experience, further narrowing the distance between citizens and bonsai art；Reading Space of Shunde Library brings the fragrance of nature and flowers into full play with the fragrance of reading books. National reading has already become an important cultural symbol of Beijiao. The fragrance of books permeates the small town, allowing citizens living and working in Beijiao to enjoy convenient living facilities and feel the "poetry" and the tranquility of the distance".
